I had lip implants done recently but my top lip rejected the implant so it had to be removed. I love your implants and would like to know what kind your surgeon uses. I live in the Houston/Clear Lake area and have had a really hard time with finding someone to do a lip augmentation due to the common factor of the implant being rejected like mine did. I have been using Juvederm Ultra Plus ever since It was offered and love the results but have to get 1-2 syringes every 3-4 mths to keep them the way I like but that can become very costly.
I have the Surgisil Permalip implants in my lips, and until February 2010 I had the largest size in top and bottom lips (#5′s), and then my doctor and I decided that since I was getting a bit older a the more time I spent on TV it seemed like the TV cameras (especially the high def cameras) added 10 pounds to my lips, and honestly made me self conscious about it.
So….because I LOVED my implants the way they were (at #5′s on top and bottom) so much and I had a hard time parting ways with my upper implant and making it slightly smaller to a #4, we (my doctor and I) decided that if I didn’t like the #4 in the top and keeping the #5 in the bottom then I can always switch the #4 back to the #5. So it was an easy solution. I had the the upper implant replaced with the #4 and LOVED it. You can go to http://www.surgisil.com and find a doctor near you that is trained to put these implants into your lips and you will love them. You DO need to stop getting injectibles in your lips for about 6 months before you get these implants in though. Typically the costs of the implants are equal to about 4 times of getting injectibles.
Good Luck!

Hi Jenny, I am wondering if you have ever tried to get help for your BDD? I saw you on Oprah in 2005 and discovered that I also had BDD. I contacted The University of Florida, which is world renowned for it’s treatment of BDD and OCD patients. I did not take medicine, I went for talk therapy and I was much better after only a few months. I, of course, don’t know what goes on inside your head when you think about yourself but for me having BDD was very exhausting. Constantly worrying about what people thought of me, constantly picking myself apart and hating everything on the outside, just not a good way to live. Help was so easy. You are beautiful on the outside but that doesn’t matter, most importantly, from reading your website it seems you are amazingly beautiful on the inside. I hope that if your BDD issues are anything like mine were that you will consider seeking help because it is such a relief not to think about those things anymore. I got my life back. I wish you much success in your career and I hope, that if you have not already, that you can gain peace and acceptance of your appearance. I hope you don’t take offense to anything I have said, before I got treatment it was a touchy subject for me, but believe me I have been there. Good luck to you.
